Very warm weekend for March and busy town. Food.

Day light saving time began on Sunday morning. We all equally lost one hour then we have gotten longer days form now. We are now 16 hours behind from Japan.

The pic is form Thursday evening. After we got our kitchen countertop installed, we needed to leave its corking to dry so we went out for dinner. Then we met this pretty view.

Bravely (You know, as a Japanese, and here in Fort Langley...), we went to a neighbour Japanese restaurant. Can you tell what is it in the photo? That was Oyako donburi which is supposed to be egg, onion and chicken simmered in dried bonito based broth with sweet soy source and, on top of rice. I felt strong flavour of Sesame oil and texture was like veggie chicken stir-fry on top of rice, tasted like Korean food. It turned out that the restaurant was ran buy Korean background people. If you don't stick with typical Japanese food it was delicious enough with that way. I've given up to find any genuine Japanese restaurants by Japanese chefs in Langley area even though there are a bunch of Sushi shop exist around. However, Japanese food culture has been already a part of Canada not only Vancouver.

Saturday brunch was in Core in Langley after we went to a tile shop for our kitchen back splash. We've  finally gotten tiles we were seeking for. Cora is family type of a break first and lunch restaurant where has very attractive menu.

Ham and swiss cheese omelette wrapped by crepes, topped by hollandaise source.
Hmm yummy!

On Sunday, my brother and his family showed up to check how was our renovation going. Since he was a professional furniture maker so was interested in it. We took a walk in the busy village together. Picnic sites were everywhere.

This clothing shop was pretty with the green along the awning with white flowers. How lovely!

Since fort Langley village is a famous tourist destination so was bustling with tons of people on the fantastically warm and bright weekend. All cafes and restaurants were packed and having long lineups. I realized again when villagers like me wants to go to a everyday, favourite cafe spontaneously, it's not easy at all. The new villager learned a lesson.

As a result, we stopped by a super market to buy ice-cream and went down to the riverbank. The photo was my nephew who was throwing pebbles to the river. With children that might be a better idea than go to a crowded cafe.

It was good weekend as well.
