What I made, what I ate, what I bought, and where I went.

What I (We) made.

I was finally finished a painting of a dog's portrait and delivered it yesterday. I met her first time because we discussed that only over emails. She was very happy about the painting and gave me a big hug. I was happy too.

I'm painting this in white now so I will post it again when everything in the kitchen is done. A renege hood over the stove that my husband made. We are one step closer to have a country kitchen!

And another painting job for myself. Crown mouldings. For fine art and for house renovation, is my occupation a painter now? lol. Keep painting!

It's not really MAKING stuff but after finish painting a portrait till next one start, I'm going to enjoy my self-french nails with rhinestones on them. You know the reason why I post only left hand image, right? lol

What I ate.

A banana cream pie form nearby cafe, Wendel's book store and Cafe. The cafe is famous for original and seasonal pies.

Some sushis. There is no Japanese owned sushi restaurant in Langley city I believe. However, if you consider these kind of sushis as new fusion food different form Japanese traditional sushi, then they are good enough.

♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎

What I bought.

I noticed that organic bananas form Two EE's market were always smiling. lol.

Got some peonies last night at the nearby super market! Fascinating.

♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎

Where I went.

For delivery of a painting and another business meeting I went to Coal harbour, Vancouver downtown yesterday. One of my favourite places where I have lived for long time. The Olympic flame holder.

I live near the river now and I like it, but I still miss ocean a lot. Alaskan cruising ship was leaving.

Lastly, Craft Beer Market. I joined my husband and his volleyball team members for dinner after my business meeting. The pub was huge and unique as using old salt factory's building. The coolest thing of this pub would be pipelines on the ceiling which carry beers from storage to bar. My choice of the beer form 150 kinds last night was Four winds IPA which has unique top flavour following by bitterness, like peach, orange, and grapefruits. I liked it.

Have a good weekend!

The beach and a park on the other slid of river. Friend's yard party.

From another side of Fraser river at the foot of the bridge.

There are a provincial park and a camping site on the other side of the river.
It was nice weather so we took a walk before we go to a supermarket. The beach on the river bank was like this.

Above the beach was a wide open grassy space. Some families enjoyed their picnic dinner there.

We crossed back on the bridge to the village and rest at a river side cafe. Felt like being a resort.
Hey friends, let have a picnic at the beach soon!

♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎

On Sunday, We were invited to a Mr. A's birthday party / BBQ and burger lunch party. We were the first comers. Look at this yard where was like bringing a gorgeous living room to outside.

10 of familiar member got together. Adults were excited about making bubbles.

The blue sky, an aqua coloured parasol and the bubbles. Oh so summer!

♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎

We haven't done with our own yard at all yet because we have to finish house renovation inside first.  So we have enjoyed flowers on our complex yard. New flower is in bloom one after another.

This peony is a different in colour and a shape from mine

Picnic lunch with girls. Heart warming small gifts.

It was in the Wednesday evening at 9 pm. What the colour!

The different kind of peonies have been in bloom now in our complex's garden. Love them!

♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎

We, Langley/Surrey girls got together at my nearby community park for picnic in the Thursday morning.

There were huge trees in the park that cast nice shade to protect us from storing rays of the sun.  We spent fun time together. Thank you, girls!

♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎

A few days ago, when my husband was cutting lumbers for shelving as well, our neighbour guy came and asked my hubby to cut some wood for him. It was a piece of cake for hubby so he did it instantly. In return, the neighbour guy come back and gave us his house made jars of salmon. We have already had one of them and it was so delicious! It was nice to help each other :)

And this aromatic rose was form a lade who lives behind us. Most of us in this complex have no fences between houses so sometime her little poodles run into our yard. She kindly passed the rose form her yard to me through our back yard. I had lived in big urban cities for a long time before we moved to this village so these kind of heart warming associations with my neighbours are new to me and made me happy. Thank you, thank god.

TGIF! Hope you have a good weekend!

May day parade and the carnival on Victoria day in Fort Langley

Monday was Victoria day holiday. May day parade and at the carnival were held in Fort Langley. May day is actually May 1st. and many communities of northern hemisphere countries celebrate for spring. Here in Fort Langley is the oldest town of Western Canada and very traditional and historic. The village was packed by people.

The parade started at 11:00. The first team to walk along was of course a bagpipe band.  Those portly figured gentlemen in their quilt were so decent.

Of course Canadian flags!

Mexican dance

Captain Canada and Mrs. Canada

May queen and princesses. The way they wave was so royal. lol

May pole dance team. A cute doggy was on the float too.

A cool medieval soldier and a villager.

Nice old farmers with a goat. It was so Fort Langley isn.

Horses of an old carriage were gorgeous! Look at their legs!

Antique fire engines were so beautiful.

Small one. Gentlemen in uniform were also cool.

Mature guys brass band? lol

I liked these wooden wheels.

Many Old tractors were even fashionable to me despite being farm machines.

♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎

After the parade, we went to the nearby community park to see the carnival.

May pole dance. Girls held each ropes from atop the pole and danced around the pole and ropes were woven beautifully. I danced it a lot when I was young at school.

The small fairground.

It was hot as 25 degrees so we needed something cold. We went to Fort Pub then and got caesars, the Canadian signature cocktail. It's like Bloody Mary but it's used Clamato juice instead of tomato juice and, vodka, and a bunch of spices. I asked mild one as well.

The heritage train station across the pub is 100 year old this year.

Newly developed and developing side of residential area in Fort Langley. The cloud said "it's summer!"
