Canada day, museums, fireworks at friend's.

It was July 1st, Canada day, we started to celebrate it in, of course Fort Langley where the oldest town in West Canada. Villagers favourite cafe Wendels 's flower baskets and flags were so Canada! There were some Canada day events happened so the town was busy. We went to some museums where were admission free for the day.

Farm museum at first.

There were a lot of farm related tools, gadgets, machines there.

My husband were originally from a farm in Alberta so he enjoyed it a lot but I, who grew up in Tokyo had almost no idea and not familiar at all with those things. One thing I was very impressed about was the design and form of old machines. They were even for farms and industrial but still so beautiful.

Some old appliances were displayed upstairs. Look at the beauty of the stove!

Even laundry machine was cute. It was a bit like R2D2? lol.

Next we went was Centennial Museum.

I previously wrote about the national historic site as well so Fort Langley was establish 1872 as the first town in West Canada. The museum introduced the way people lived the then.

This one was a general shop, kind of like London drugs or Shoppers drug mart now? lol. There was even a post office in the conner, the asme as we have now in the stores.

They had every things form candies to table cloth and kitchen gadgets all together.

We have a lot of extraordinarily huge trees in our rain forest in BC, didn't we?  Those trees were were cut down due to construction of the town back then.

After that we went for shopping, then heading to my friend's in North Vancouver for Canada day fireworks party. 3 of us,  Japanese girls at the party, came to Canada the same year in 2005. We've been here for 10 years! So celebrated 10th Canada day together with them were so meaningful.

Vancouver downtown would be too busy at that day and night so watching fireworks form North shore was a good idea. The view of downtown the other side of ocean from her balcony was fantastic. My iPhone camera zoom wasn't good enough to capture the beauty of night view and fireworks so I put a couple of small pics. lol.

My regret as well is that forgot taking pictures of her fabulous food again! lol. I say it again but when it comes to delicious food I simply forget everything but eating, even my camera is sitting right there! lol. I'm a bad blogger. Her condo room was beautiful as well.  We had very good time together.
