New handcraft project of mine. Our Christmas tree.

Our strawberry's leaves are so pretty now! It heavy rains outside though...

Well, here is brief introduction of my new handcraft project. It still middle of some experiments though. It's crochet or knit something, and wash wish hot water to make them into felt. I am almost obsessed with making this swirling hearts.

This particular one was finished with bead embroidery. I attached a pin on the back so it could be a pin or a Christmas ornament too.

Two round crocheted/felted purses are drying.

Previously described heart motif above was original like this when I just crocheted. It shrank as a felt about 85% and become thick and tough.

These ones are not felting project but some goods for the cold winter. A slouch hat and boots cuffs.

When you fill gapes in between legs and boots like that, it becomes much warmer.
I would post more felted projects later on.

This one was a event which never happens in Japan, I guess...
We bought this house around Christmas in last year and we were invited to this "you can get a free Christmas tree!" event from our realtor in this year. There were a Christmas choir, free hot chocolate, doughnuts, and hotdogs as well. Since all real estates in metro Vancouver are insanely expensive, realtors' services are also something big.

There were soooooo many people there. We waited our turn in a long line-up for a while.

There was even a pile of snow! I wondered if they brought it form the mountain?

And of course huge numbers of Christmas trees were laying and piling.

We finally got a small one, because our house is small. Till last year we picked big ones like over 7 foot, so it was so easy to carry in this year.

Got back home and put it together. Well, my husband did as well. Because our house was small, and only place available for a tree was behind of the couches, my hubby made a stand/cabinet to raise a Christmas tree levels with the couch's back.

And I was responsible for decoration. Our style is rustic/country so I made a tree less flashier than one at the former house. I wish I could decorate it with all white and a bit silver only but I can't give up on my existing ornaments with some sentimental values.

Bigger picture.

I also used some trimmed branches from the tree for another decoration like that.

On the way back from the tree event, we stooped by another one.

It was a Kwantlen First Nation Christmas Fair in Fort Langley where we live in too. The other side of Fraser river, on the delta of it is their reservation. It was a first time that we got deep inside of their reservation where usually not allowed for us to get into.

The culture centre building was decent and beautiful. We enjoyed watching their traditional arts and crafts inside of it. When we got out of the building, we saw two huge eagles flew over our head, and I felt that was spiritual.

We bought their hand made sockeye smoked salmon. It was great to glance their beautiful culture. It will happen again on Next Sat.19th. Come and check it out!
